The Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman has attracted attention among shoppers looking for affordable furniture that combines modern design, versatility, and a cozy appearance. Sold as part of Aldi’s limited-time special finds, this curved ottoman has become a popular choice for people who want to add a stylish accent to a room without spending a large amount of money. Its soft bouclé texture and unusual waterfall-inspired shape make it stand out from traditional square ottomans and stools.
With its compact size, neutral color options, and multiple uses, the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman can work in bedrooms, living rooms, offices, dressing areas, and other small spaces. This article explores its design, dimensions, functionality, pricing, availability, and reasons why shoppers are interested in this budget-friendly furniture piece.
What Is the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman?
The Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman is a small accent furniture piece designed by SOHL Furniture and offered through Aldi during limited-release periods. Rather than using a conventional rectangular or box-shaped design, the ottoman features a smooth curved structure that resembles an upside-down “U” or a rainbow.
This minimalist waterfall shape gives the piece a contemporary appearance. The rounded silhouette can complement modern, minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired, and neutral interior styles. Its relatively small footprint also makes it practical for rooms where larger furniture pieces may be difficult to accommodate.
One of the main attractions is that it provides decorative appeal while remaining functional. It can serve as a footrest, additional seating, or a small surface depending on how it is used.
A Modern Bouclé Design
Bouclé fabric has become increasingly popular in contemporary interior design because of its soft, textured appearance. The fabric typically has a looped or nubby surface that creates a warm and comfortable visual effect.
The Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman uses this type of textured upholstery to give the simple curved frame a more inviting appearance. Instead of looking like a purely functional stool, its rounded shape and fabric covering allow it to function as an accent piece.
The available colors have included cream white and slate/dark gray. These neutral shades can be relatively easy to incorporate into different decorating schemes. Cream can create a softer, brighter appearance, while dark gray can provide more contrast in a room.
Compact Dimensions for Small Spaces
One advantage of the ottoman is its compact size. It measures approximately 24.41 inches long, 16.14 inches wide or deep, and 17.72 inches tall.
These dimensions make it considerably smaller than many traditional accent chairs or large upholstered ottomans. That can be particularly useful for apartments, bedrooms, home offices, and other areas where floor space is limited.
Because of its modest footprint, homeowners can place it beside a sofa, underneath or near a desk, at the end of a bed, or in a dressing area. Its curved construction can also add visual interest without making a room feel overly crowded.
Multiple Uses Around the Home
The Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman is not limited to one particular purpose. Its versatile design allows it to perform several roles depending on the room and the user’s needs.
Footrest
One of the most obvious uses is as a footrest. It can be positioned in front of a sofa or accent chair, providing a convenient place to rest your feet while reading, watching television, or relaxing.
Extra Seating
The ottoman can also provide additional seating when needed. Its stated weight capacity is approximately 176 pounds, making it suitable for supported seating within that limit. Users should always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and weight recommendations when using it as a seat.
Small Side Surface
Its flat upper section can also make it useful as a low side table or display surface. For example, it could hold lightweight decorative objects, books, or other household items.
However, because it is primarily an ottoman rather than a conventional table, users should consider its stability and intended weight capacity before placing heavier objects on it.
Bedroom and Dressing Area Accent
Another practical location is the bedroom. The ottoman can sit near a bed, vanity, or dressing area and provide a convenient place to sit while getting ready. Its soft upholstery can also add a cozy decorative element to the space.
Affordable Pricing
Price is another major reason the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman has attracted shoppers. During its limited Aldi releases, it has typically been priced in the range of $30 to $40 USD.
For an upholstered accent piece with a distinctive modern design, that price point makes it an accessible option for shoppers who want to experiment with current home décor trends without making a major furniture investment.
However, pricing can vary depending on the specific Aldi release, location, and availability. Since Aldi Finds are often temporary, shoppers should check their local store and current listings for the most accurate price.
Why Availability Can Be Difficult
The Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman is associated with Aldi’s special-finds model, which means availability is different from furniture sold as a permanent product line.
Aldi frequently introduces special products in limited quantities. Once a particular item becomes popular, inventory can disappear quickly. This means shoppers may find the ottoman in one store while another location has already sold out.
Its viral popularity has also contributed to demand. Shoppers searching for the piece outside of an active release or restock period may have difficulty finding it in physical stores.
For this reason, anyone interested in purchasing one should check Aldi’s current Specialbuys or Aldi Finds information and contact nearby stores when appropriate.
How to Style the Ottoman
The neutral appearance of the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman gives homeowners several styling possibilities. A cream version can be paired with beige, white, light wood, and other neutral furnishings for a soft and cohesive interior.
The darker gray version can work well with black furniture, darker wood, white walls, or contemporary décor. Because the ottoman has a strong curved silhouette, it can also help introduce rounded shapes into rooms that contain many straight lines.
For a living room, it can be placed near a curved sofa or accent chair. In a bedroom, positioning it near the end of the bed can create a polished finishing touch.
Is the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman Practical?
The appeal of the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman comes from its combination of appearance, size, and versatility. It is small enough for many spaces while offering several potential functions.
Its approximately 176-pound weight capacity provides useful flexibility for supported seating, while its relatively compact dimensions make it easier to position than larger upholstered furniture.
At the same time, shoppers should remember that it is a compact accent piece rather than a replacement for a full-size chair or table. Its usefulness will depend on how it fits into a particular room and how the owner intends to use it.
Final Thoughts
The Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman represents the type of affordable, trend-focused home décor item that can attract considerable attention when it appears as an Aldi Find. Its curved waterfall design, soft bouclé-inspired texture, neutral color options, compact dimensions, and multiple uses make it an interesting option for modern interiors.
With typical limited-release pricing around $30 to $40, it offers an inexpensive way to introduce a contemporary accent into a living room, bedroom, office, or dressing area. The main challenge is availability, as limited Aldi releases can sell out quickly.
For shoppers who appreciate minimalist furniture and multifunctional décor, the Sohl Boucle Waterfall Ottoman can be a practical and visually distinctive addition to a small space.
